Ava’s Chocolate Mousse Pie

This is my granddaughter’s Ava favorite dessert and it is quite simple to prepare as it may be the gateway for children’s cookery experience resulting in a combination of flavors that provide explosive culinary delights!

What you need:

For the crust:

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 1 tea spoon baking powder
  • ½ cup water

Mix everything and roll it out into de pie dish

For the filling:

  • 8 eggs
  • 8 table spoons of icing sugar
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 250 grs.  (8 oz.) dark chocolate

Steps

  1. Place chocolate and margarine in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Leave chocolate until soft and stir until melted. Set aside
  2. Beat egg yolks and sugar in a small bowl with electric mixer until thick and lemon colored.
  3. Mix with the chocolate
  4. Beat egg whites in another bowl with electric mixer at high speed until they make soft peaks
  5. Fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture very carefully, do not beat, until the two mixtures are very well blend.
  6. Pour over the base. Leave in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before serving
